SEVEN VIDEO

3 brothers. 7 years in. 1 brand that needed a complete refresh. The founders of Seven Video approached us to reinvent their brand, they’d recently been through a big restructuring of the business and now wanted something completely fresh. Through our branding workshop we uncovered the essence of the service and brand – B2B video. So we repositioned them around the core concept of ‘The business of video’. And these guys really do make videos that mean business.

BRAND STRATEGY | BRAND | COPYWRITING | SOCIAL | DIGITAL

At the heart of the brand is the Seven Video logo, a typographic conceptualisation of the clacker board. Simple, striking and ready-made for a logo sting. It also helped answer one of the pain points of the brand strategy – the inconsistent use of the name. They were invariably known as Seven, Seven Video, Seven Videos, Seven Productions and Seven Video Productions. We chose Seven Video to make a definitive statement in the logo, and because of its equal number of letters which naturally led us to a monospaced typeface for the clacker board.

The brand language centres around their specialism – B2B video. Working with the likes of Heineken, Strongbow, Murphy’s, The University of York and Heart of Yorkshire, we wanted a copy tone that was approachably confident but with a Northern charm. Internally we defined the brand story as ‘the business of video’, a dual meaning phrase that carried their philosophy and ethos. We then had some fun using the B2B acronym as a copy device, some short staccato phrases that mirrored how the founders talked and a nice copy transformation structure, ie we turn strategies into storyboards and messages into magnets.

Not short on video content, we wanted the team to have something else to play with in their promotional comms. So we created a risoprint graphic style to be used sparingly across the brand. It helped to contrast the beautifully shot corporate videos, with a grittier vibe that meant they could put their own personal stamp on their videos.

“Having been through a lot of changes as a business, we knew it was time for a fresh brand that better reflected who we were and where we wanted to go. What impressed me most was how ALLGOOD really got under the skin of our business. We didn’t give the clearest brief, but through a brilliant workshop with the whole team, they asked all the right questions and brought ideas out of us that we probably couldn’t have articulated ourselves.

The end result genuinely blew us away. From the colours and typography to the ‘Videos that mean business’ messaging, they absolutely nailed it. It’s elevated how we present ourselves as a business, and the feedback from customers and prospects has been incredible.

The value ALLGOOD have delivered has been fantastic, and I genuinely couldn’t recommend them highly enough.”
